COURSE DESCRIPTION SPANISH 1:

In order to graduate from high school all students must currently take two years of a foreign language.  Spanish 1 is an academic course that grants one year of this required credit.  The course will develop and enforce the communication skills of the Spanish language through speaking, listening, reading, writing.

 COURSE GOALS:

At the end of this course you should be able to use Spanish in social settings. You should be able to communicate your ideas, feelings, and attitudes; It is also expected that you be capable of requesting information and negotiate in exchanges regarding the thoughts and/or opinions of others.  You should have an understanding of the structure of Spanish, a storehouse of vocabulary related to familiar topics, and a limited ability to write accurately in Spanish.
